Great news for those who are continuously on the move and don’t have time to draw out checks or access the Internet to make payments.
Vesta Corporation, a leading virtual commerce solutions company, and Axalto, a leader player in microprocessor smart cards, in collaboration, are in the process of launching a new SIM based technology that will allow GSM customers to make payments directly from their mobile phones.
Using a dropdown menu, customers will be able to make payments from their credit cards, debit cards or from their online checking accounts. The companies have promised to create a mobile transaction environment that is highly secure, can be remotely managed and is integrated with other features on the handset. Security for the payments module is being ensured through end-to-end encryption running over non-public wireless network.
The new service can be offered by GSM players throughout North America and is likely to benefit some 80 million customers.
