We all know that frauds related to credit cards are on the rise. Miscreants obtain our card information and commit a fraud, while we may not even realize that there there has been a problem.

While, we harp about Internet security and the chances of our card details being ripped online, an easier way for thieves to commit the crime is to just copy the number from our cards.

Listed below are some of the precautions that one can exercise to mitigate the chances of a credit card fraud.

  • Always keep your card secured with you
  • Use your card at places you trust and keep an eye on it while it is being swiped
  • Do not give your card number over the phone to just about anyone, especially telemarketers
  • Never reveal your card number over email
  • Lastly, if you suspect that your card information may have been stolen, contact the card issuing company immediately

Exercising these precautions will help reduce the chances of your credit card being misused.
